Review Of The New MacBook Pro Winter 2011 Laptops
The MacBook Pro was first introduced in 2006, updating the PowerBook G4. These top of the line laptops have been constantly improved since their release.
Some of the new updates introduced design changes but this year is the year of the Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 notebook computer and while the look still looks just like last year, Apple made many unique features that are more than welcome specifically if you have not upgraded your MacBook Pro within the past several years.
What's Good About Them
The Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 laptop joins the Sandy Bridge bandwagon as each one of its models have Intel second generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The smaller model, the 13-inch, will now be powered by the latest Intel Core i5 2620M, which is very fast. 15-inch and 17-inch designs will have quad-core power which is necessary for running high-end applications like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop efficiently. 4 GB is still the starting memory, yet 12 extra GBs can be added. Graphics is the most demanding use of these kinds of machines, and the AMD Radeon HD 6490M allows them to set new speed records. If that's still not really quick enough, you can even upgrade the computer to the Radeon HD 6750M. Switchable graphics is still in so life of the battery for normal usage is still lengthy as it uses the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000. Yet another disadvantage for 13-inch purchasers, may be the slight drop in graphics performance because of the lack of an AMD or NVDIA counterpart to the Intel integrated graphics. Gaming performance is slightly slower though the Intel HD 3000 graphics is so much better than previous generations and also it is just as efficient.
Summary
The benchmarks for the high-end notebook category have been considerably improved with the release of the MacBook Pro Winter 2011 models. You can be certain that your new model is able to run next generation applications with no strain.
